Dr. Gena Wickes, DC
Dr. Gena Wickes has been practicing in the DFW area for 11 years. She is proud graduate of The University of Texas at Austin with a degree in Psychology with a minor in Biology/Zoology. Dr. Wickes's background is in medical research. She ran a national multi-centered drug study for UT Southwestern's Ophthalmology Department in the early 1990's. While raising her daughters, she realized how much chiropractic had made an impact on her health. Once plagued by migraines, asthma and allergies, they all were almost non-existent after she began chiropractic care. With her research background, she had to figure out how that worked so she applied to Parker College of Chiropractic and graduated in 2009. Dr. Wickes has continued her education through the IPCA, obtaining her Webster Technique Certification for Prenatal Care. She completed the Generations Family Wellness coaching program with Dr. Claudia Anrig in 2012 and obtained her traumatology and advanced research certification from the Spinal Research Institute of San Diego, under Dr. Croft in 2018. She also enjoys continuing education in nutrition and supplementation, using products from LifeVantage, Standard Process & MediHerb.
Dr. Wickes enjoys spending time with her daughters, Avery (who is an ER nurse at Medical City Dallas) and Julia (who works for the Perot Family), as well as her parents. She is also a proud mom of two fur-babies, Richmond, a 12 year old Cocker Spaniel and Baby, a 5-6 year old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel mix that came to her as a foster. Her hobbies include nature walks, tennis, singing on her praise team at her church, movie festivals, Champagne Thursdays and writing romance novels.
Dr. Wickes is excited to be part of the East Plano Chiropractic & Wellness team and looks forward to getting to know and treat the community.
